A quick reminder for everyone reading this:If someone pressures you, asks for personal information, or promises “guaranteed” financial gains… pause. Verify. Protect yourself.. Remember the I does not call you for information You would get an official letter from them if they need any more information Hang up if somebody says they’re from the IRS

 

 

Scammers would love to get a piece of your tax refund or use the opportunity to contact you fishing (phishing) for your precious personal information.

·         The IRS will not contact you by email, social media or a phone call pressuring you to make payment.

·         Be sure that you are getting your tax help from a qualified source.

·         Remember that investment returns that are too good to be true may be a scam. Check any firm with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) or Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) before investing and use verified investment platforms only.

·         Be wary of anyone who calls requesting money for a sick relative, or to help a friend. Never send or accept funds from someone you’ve only met online without verifying their identity.
